It is hard to sum up the wedding of Apryl and Jon in only a couple of words. Their wedding was colorful but in a soft romantic painterly way and it was eclectic but in a modern refined way. It was bohemian mod vintage garden magic! Read more and see more from DWeddings and Ruffledblog.com.

Architect, Lindsay Shelton, guest blogs today to show us how we can define ceremony and reception spaces.
”Using different methods of lighting and decor can clearly define space. A great space can also be achieved by a spectacular piece of architecture, a temporary structure, or a building as common as a barn…”
”Above, lighting doubles as an object to define the space as well as a ambient light above each long table.”
Engraving is a historic method of producing images on paper, both in artistic printmaking, and also for commercial reproductions and illustrations. Engraving may be broadly defined as the art of drawing on any substance by means of an incised line. Plates used in engraving are usually made of well polished copper, but silver, steel, brass and pewter plates have also been used. Steel was often used in the second quarter of the last century but the more recently applied method of steel-facing by electrolysis of the copper. Any imperfections are then corrected by hand with a scraper or burnisher.
When I lived in Brooklyn, the BBG was a favorite place to visit! We did many weddings there, each different but inspired by the lush surrounding gardens. This summer when we visited we made a day of it…we had a blast prancing though the roses, dancing under the mobiles, and gazing into the huge koi pond! The Cherry Blossom Festival is a must if you you are there in April….dreamy and magical!
Just do it…ELOPE! You+ your love+and the camera, making memories on your wedding day. Eloping is a super intimate and wonderfully romantic way

I would LOVE to see someone reimagine this for their wedding… Chinese Sky Lanterns. I just think it could be gorgeous — just for the bride and groom signed by all the guests (inspiration found here) or maybe even in lieu of tossing something when they leave. Check out the how to here
xo,
After ten years of dating two incredibly talented people, Photographer Allison V. Smith and Gallery owner Barry Whistler, married at her families’ home in Maine. The story goes that she grew up spending summers there and she knew the only way she would get to share this amazing part of her life (and who she is) with her friends was to get married there with her nearest and dearest. It was an intimate affair filled with music, friends, oysters, dogs and oh yes, Michael Jackson. Photos below but you can watch the video here.
