untamed heart

I’m not talking about the 90s hit with Christian Slater and Marisa Tomei… although I love it!

Better than that…SAIPUA! Saipua is one of my favorite floral design teams and they are based out of Red Hook, Brooklyn! Their arrangements are wild, moody, loose, organic, unruly, dark, romantic, earthy….and the list goes on. I am so in love with what they create! Spy a few below and then visit  www.saipua.com to see more gorgeousness….

calligraphy calling

It’s gorgeous and a must for your invitations…any invitations really. The art and patience of good calligraphy is mesmerizing and inspiring. Check out these two videos. The first is really a script font but captures the flowy delicate spirit of calligraphy and the second is the doodling and the process of a calligrapher. It’s so easy to get lost in the elegant and seemingly effortless strokes.

The wedding of two of my dearest friends Jen and Dave. Jen is a graphic designer and Dave, a product designer – an incredibly creative couple so there was no question this would be a well designed wedding. The scene was an ideal outdoor ceremony under huge trees at the perfectly, quaint Mercury Hall in Austin with lots of REALLY well done DIYs (including delicious wine made by the bride’s dad), amazing food catered by Whole Foods and the best favor ever — a dish towel that read “there is perhaps no better way to judge how well you’ll live the year. The dirtier it gets, the better you’ve done.”

Unveiled

We’ve come a long way from the traditional cathedral wedding veil. A bride’s veil is just as much a statement piece as the dress itself. Melody Ginn, owner and designer at Emma’s Bridal Boutique, knows that better than anyone. For almost ten years, Melody has been designing couture headpieces for brides worldwide. Inside her Red Oak, Texas showroom you’ll find everything from traditional wedding veils to vintage inspired hat veils and custom fascinators. Here are some great accessory ideas that break away from tradition.

Please be seated

There are many ways to tell your guests where they are seated. It can be anything from a single chart to individual escort cards. It’s just another detail you can tailor specifically to your style and event! Here are some of my favorite displays.
