Over the holidays we went to Jamaica and visited Rose Hall, a “haunted house” in Montego Bay built in the 1700′s… a gorgeous building with an incredible story. You can read the story here but the short version is Annie Palmer married John Palmer, a very weathly Jamaican. Annie murdered John, two other husbands and her slave lovers and is known as the “White Witch of Rose Hall.” Supposedly she haunts it and I think many Jamaicans believe that is true. Nonetheless, the grounds are fascinating and well worth investigating if you are thinking destination.
Who doesn’t love ombre right now? For this farm wedding, Wendy (Birds of A Feather), designed a modern yet rustic wedding with pink ombre throughout the wedding with no detail left un noticed. Everything from an ombre carpet of rose petals down the aisle, ombre painted mason jars, hand dyed ombre napkins, and a giant ombre initial for the guest sign in! Viva Ombre!
The most beautiful cakes and pastries are often inspired by art and design, seeking, in their way, to become a temporary, edible work of art. So it is only fitting that the world of sweets would in turn inspire designers and artists. These baking-inspired art objects and prints would make for a unique addition to any home. Great gifts for that sweet baker in your life!

Happy New Year everyone! Pantone recently revealed PMS 17-5641 Emerald, a lively, radiant, lush green, as the Color of the Year for 2013. A departure from last year’s energizing “Tangerine Tango”, this year’s color is more balancing and harmonious. Green portrays renewal and prosperity so hopefully that’s a good omen for 2013!

Tis the season for citrus! The focus on flowers in this winter inspired shoot makes me oh sooooo happy….gresh and lush arrangements paired with airplants and citrus! Ranunculus, narcissus, tulips, astrantia, garden roses, and cattleya orchids make for a gorgeous white winter palette. Pops of orange and grey are a welcomed bonus!
