Desert Rose – these beauties are not all roses nor do they all grow in the desert… However, if you want unique blooms to accent your desert dream day, look no further than the following hardy plants and romantic petals. Dreamy sunset colors paired with a cactus-like quality. Truly gorgeous.

I have to be honest here. This is going to come as a shock but I have NEVER been to Marfa. It’s a hole in my Texas Travel education and honestly my heart aches a little every time I think about it. I’m going. This year. I’m an artist and a Texan through and through (we’re quite proud). I envision Marfa as the perfect place to soak up true wonderful artful peace (almost like Santa Fe) in a beautiful Texas setting under the stars – I was made to go to Marfa. And I haven’t been. Shameful. That said, in the spirit of Marfa week I’m filling you in on my ideal Marfa vacay. Lucky for me almost every friend I have HAS been there so I feel like I’ve got a pretty good handle on the scoop but always open for suggestions!
See the info after the jump. Marfa 2012. You heard it here first.

One of my favorite printing processes is the art of foil stamping. It adds a metallic shine and additional wow factor that’s hard to get with ink. Foil stamping uses pressure from a die or carved metal plate, thin foil sheets and heat to bond the foil to paper. It comes in a variety of colors from gold to bright turquoise and glossy to matte. Look what this process can do!
