Fresh flowers make special occasions – we all agree on that right? And how many times in our lives do we get to wear them let alone just hold them. I love the idea of flowers EVERYWHERE on your wedding day but especially wearing them and in this instance around your neck. I can only imagine the possibilities and what an amazing sensory overload of smell and touch. You would have to feel beautiful yes?

McKenzie Powell is an amazing floral and event designer in Seattle, Washington. Her arrangements are dreamy, lush and romantic without being traditional. Her philosophy…”Dinner tables are to be lovingly set, candles to be lit. pom squad

You may have gathered that I do way more than just flowers! I love all things craft too! What you may not know, is my deep love for pom poms….I used store bought mini poms for my 2009 wedding sprinkling them down the center of our family style tables a la runner and handmade pom pom wreaths hung over the entry doors to our venue! The pom squad is now in full force and here are some clever ways to use these puffy little yarn pretties!

Who doesn’t love ombre right now? For this farm wedding, Wendy (Birds of A Feather), designed a modern yet rustic wedding with pink ombre throughout the wedding with no detail left un noticed. Everything from an ombre carpet of rose petals down the aisle, ombre painted mason jars, hand dyed ombre napkins, and  a giant ombre initial for the guest sign in! Viva Ombre!

Tis the season for citrus! The focus on flowers in this winter inspired shoot makes me oh sooooo happy….gresh and lush arrangements paired with airplants and citrus! Ranunculus, narcissus, tulips, astrantia, garden roses, and cattleya orchids make for a gorgeous white winter palette. Pops of orange and grey are a welcomed bonus!

snow berry

December 12th, 2012 | Posted by Hello Love in Flower - (Comments Off)

Snowberry or Winterberry is a gorgeous plump berry that can stand alone or is gorgeous paired with other blooms and textures. Perfect for Winter Weddings. It is delicate yet hardy and has lovely movement. The berries are clustered super close together instead of being dispersed along a branch or throughout foliage.
