calligraphy calling

It’s gorgeous and a must for your invitations…any invitations really. The art and patience of good calligraphy is mesmerizing and inspiring. Check out these two videos. The first is really a script font but captures the flowy delicate spirit of calligraphy and the second is the doodling and the process of a calligrapher. It’s so easy to get lost in the elegant and seemingly effortless strokes.

Who doesn’t love the sentiment and beauty of an old brooch. Vintage only of course but add one of those beauties to anything — napkin, guest book, shoe, dress, bouquet and it’s pretty much immediately gorgeous. Hard to resist this emerald green lovely.

blushing bride

You MAY notice I’m on a bit of a roll here with the non-white attire for the biggest day of your life. But truly, none could be more gorgeous (at least at this moment in my mind) than a blush wedding gown. I’m on a big kick in the world of blush in general (shoes, bags, clothes, housewares, you name it) but a muted slightly pink kissed dress. TDF. Don’t you agree?

I’m a little bit obsessed with string art. It’s everywhere from Anthropologie to our newest Dallas icon the Calatrava bridge. AND it’s an easy thing to do for your event whether making signage or just a beautiful installation. I have to say I favor the really huge installations – they are inexpensive and just amazing in scale. I’m talking a whole wall people.

inner beauty

Cake. So sweet, so lovely, and always surprising. Pasty Chefs have taken their confectionary talents to a whole new level making cake a medium for amazing pieces of art. While we have all seen the crazy things these chefs do with cake on tv, there is one sweet surprise still to be found within. The actual cake itself.  That’s right, we have discovered yet another way to make cake a little bit sweeter. From amazing colors to creative designs, these cakes are full of personality and charm. Imagine having a cake at your wedding that was not only gorgeous on the outside, but exuded beauty from within.

bring on the black

March 19th, 2012 | Posted by Hello Love in Style - (2 Comments)

If I had to pick a color it would be white but my second runner up is definitely gray or black – any day, for any reason. Black dresses are slimming right? Well unconventional as it might be (oh, wait, now we love it more) a black wedding dress is something to consider. I had a girlfriend who wore green and asked everyone else to wear white or black. I loved that idea… Shake it up a little.

adorn your do

We’re not all veil girls, but with so many other gorgeous options you’re not sacrificing fabulousness with tradition. Whether it is a vintage-inspired comb or a darling millinery flower tiara, you can suit your day-of look to a T, and then wear it again or pass it on as an heirloom.

Originally from Austin, fashion designer Berry Crocker attended the highly coveted Pratt Institute in Brooklyn and now resides near White Rock Lake in big D. Berry is a handbag designer at Fossil. She is also excited to be planning her own wedding this April and is loving the excuse to thrift and vintage shop more often.Contact: [email protected]
